Project Overview

As the lead designer in a small multidisciplinary creative team, we had the brief to provide Land Rover users with a hub section and interactive tool which Introduces the current powertrain landscape and helps the user understand what powertrain is right for them. The tool was designed to ask simple questions to determine which powertrain is most suitable and also highlight which powertrain is best in regard to a number of criteria: cost savings, driving distances etc. The tool was designed to also give customers a transparent view as to what type of driver is suitable for each powertrain, so the users have the ability to make their own decision.

The Results

Helping users find the right powertrain.

The decision tree was developed for both personal and business car users. Four questions were presented to the end user in a visually interactive way to encourage them to explore which powertrain would be best suited to their specific lifestyle.

Questions 1 and 2 are intended to work out whether a user is applicable for an electric car or not. The user must have either off-street parking or the ability to charge at work in order to be considered for a plug-in hybrid or all-electric car. Question 3 and 4 are to get an idea of how much driving the user does.
